Jonathan grew up in a musical family, playing a number of instruments including clarinet, piano and drums. His classical beginnings led him to study jazz and in time to developing his own compositional language.
Live work soon gave over to the studio and a compulsion to work beyond orthodox musical structures to make music that is diverse, imaginative and often suggests an emotive narrative.
His ever expanding collection of instruments, with his use of industrial sounds and unusual phrasing make for music that tells human stories, creates mood, atmosphere, intensity – and sometimes just a damned good groove!
